The Grammys are still on, along with a select few special events. The majority of festivities see cancellation amid the Los Angeles wildfires.

While wildfires continue to devastate Los Angeles County, most festivities related to the Grammy Awards have been cancelled — though the Grammys themselves are still a go. But a few Grammy-related galas are still on, including Clive Davis’ pre-Grammy soiree and MusiCares annual gala.

Notably, both events are presented in part with The Recording Academy. Davis’ bash kicks off on the evening of the awards show, and this year marks the famous executive’s 50th anniversary hosting the gala. The annual Person of the Year event presented by The Recording Academy’s industry charity, MusiCares, will also go on as planned.

This year’s Grammy Awards telecast will “carry a renewed sense of purpose,” said The Recording Academy and MusiCares CEO Harvey Mason Jr. The event will raise “additional funds to support wildfire relief efforts and honoring the bravery and dedication of the first responders who risk their lives to protect ours.”

Both MusiCares and The Recording Academy have already pledged $1 million to help music professionals impacted by the fires. Those close to the matter say Davis’ gala will also host a charitable component to help wildfire victims.

Meanwhile, MusiCares’ 2025 Person of the Year bash honors The Grateful Dead on January 31. This will include a special posthumous tribute to Jerry Garcia and Phil Lesh, as well as honoring original band members, Mickey Hart, Bill Kreutzmann, and Bobby Weir. Last year saw MusiCares’ honor Jon Bon Jovi at the event, with previous honorees including Berry Gordy, Smokey Robinson, Joni Mitchell, Aerosmith, Dolly Parton, Fleetwood Mac, and many more.

Other cancellations abound, with Billboard following in the steps of a number of other companies and major labels who are cancelling their Grammy events. Universal Music Group, Warner Music Group, and Sony Music Group have all cancelled their plans leading up to the awards show.

The Recording Academy has been clear that it plans to go ahead with the 67th Annual Grammy Awards on February 2. But they’ve yet to announce whether other Grammy week events — such as the Special Merit Awards on February 1 — will continue as planned.
