Cooking Vinyl signs Run For Cover deal in Australia

Cooking Vinyl Australia has sealed a new partnership with Boston indie-rock label Run For Cover Records.

The partnership will kick off with US band Turnover, set to release their forthcoming record, Peripheral Vision on May 8.

This will be followed by Citizen, who release Everybody Is Going To Heaven on June 26.

And UK band Basement will release the follow up to 2012’s colourmeinkindness later this year through Cooking Vinyl Australia under the new partnership with Run For Cover.

Cooking Vinyl Australia co-director Stu Harvey said: “Run For Cover have released some of my favourite albums of the last few years. So it made sense to start working together.

“We kicked off with Modern Baseball last year and that went great, so now I’m stoked that we are going to start working on a bunch more great Run For Cover albums down here.”

Run For Cover Records label manager Tom Chiari added: “We’ve been looking for the opportunity to work with Stu in Australia for a few years now. When we got the opportunity to release the Modern Baseball record with him and his team at Cooking Vinyl, it was a no-brainer.

“They’ve done a wonderful job bringing the band to a wider Australian audience and we’re thrilled to expand our partnership to include some incredible new artists and releases this year.”

Cooking Vinyl Australia represents labels such as Cooking Vinyl UK, Dine Alone, Razor & Tie, Resist, SideOneDummy and Thirty Tigers and has secured local deals for acts such as Kate Miller-Heidke, Shakey Graves, You Me At Six, The Smashing Pumpkins, Lindi Ortega, Frank Iero and Modern Baseball.
