BMG is kicking off a series of new releases from Skint Records following its acquisition of the UK-based label last year.

Kartel Music Group has been chosen as global services partner for the campaign.

The first release out of the door will be a re-issue of Fatboy Slim’s classic album Halfway Between The Gutter And The Stars.

Released June 1, it includes a collection of new and previously unreleased remixes.

Kartel CEO Charles Kirby-Welch said, “We’re excited to be working with BMG on the fantastic Skint catalogue on the eve of the labels’ 20th anniversary.”

“The Skint catalogue is a real gem, and BMG is determined to doing it proper justice with this reissue campaign,” said BMG’s Didier Dehauteur.

“We are very impressed by Kartel’s great enthusiasm and commitment to deliver this project.”

A 20th Anniversary 3CD package of new, classic and unreleased material from Skint Records’ catalogue, will follow later this summer.

The release will feature named such as Midfield General, Lo-Fidelity Allstars and X-Press 2.

Alongside the anniversary CD release Kartel will be working in partnership with PledgeMusic on a range of exclusive products, including a deluxe vinyl boxset and limited edition merchandise.

PledgeMusic’s UK/EU President Malcolm Dunbar said: “PledgeMusic are honoured to be involved in helping to bring the legendary Skint label back into focus. Working with Kartel Music Group, PledgeMusic will be delivering a range of exclusive, must-have limited editions and merchandise to fans of a range of artists on a label that very much set the tone for today’s dance music”.

Meanwhile, Skint are set to release new material from new and upcoming artists signed to the label.

Skint Co-Founder JC Reid says “We are really enjoying working with all the team at Kartel, they are full of great ideas and are really passionate about their music.”Music Business Worldwide
