BMG‘s office in China has created a new global rights management joint venture with Giant Jump, a significant Chinese music and entertainment company.

BMG will exclusively manage all Giant Jump’s recording and music publishing rights, both domestically and internationally.

BMG entered the Chinese market in early 2014 touting its ‘state-of-the-art music rights management platform’, and international reach to Chinese artists and rights owners.

Giant Jump have just relased Nothing Gonna Stop us to Love, the 10th album by the hugely popular Chinese duo Yu Quan, who have sold more than 7 million albums over their 15-year career.

The new album was released without a physical CD but purely online, and it was promoted with and/or embedded into a series of innovative hardware and merchandise products, including Bluetooth loud speakers and headphones, cosmetics, a battery charger, branded wines and even oranges.

Giant Jump is billed as ‘a 360 degree creative and entertainment company’, including a record label that also engages in artist management and live performance activities.

Its contracted artists include Yu Quan, Yun Hao, Jianxiang Huang, Xiang Li, Nic Li and many others.

Yun Hao’s latest song ‘Dali’ is the theme song to the popular Chinese romantic comedy and road film, Breakup Buddies, which has been released internationally in North America, Australia and New Zealand. The song gained over 10 million plays within the first week of its release.

Dora Yi, Chief Investment Officer of BMG Greater China says: “Giant Jump is a leading Chinese music company with strong entrepreneurship and clear strategic vision, making it an ideal partner for BMG. We look forward to working with them, developing new business models and delivering the value Chinese artists and rights owners deserve.”

The famous artist Haiquan Hu from Yu Quan, founder of the Giant Jump says: “It is my great honor to partner with BMG. I believe Giant Jump will definitely enter into a new chapter with BMG’s international platform, know-how in music rights management and its unique position in China.”
