Live Nation Entertainment, Universal Music Group (UMG) and WME have all invested in tech startup Doppler Labs.

The money will be used to further develop the firm’s Here Active Listening System, which it calls ‘the first in-ear system that uses two wireless buds and an app to let you instantly control and personalize your live audio environment’.

HALS launched on Kickstarter earlier this month and surpassed its original $250,000 30-day goal in less than 48 hours.

“Support from these music industry leaders helps position the Here Active Listening System to revolutionize live entertainment – especially for concerts and live music,” said Noah Kraft, CEO and Co-Founder of Doppler Labs.

“The technology we have created with Here has the potential to make every seat in the house the best seat in the house by allowing every listener to personalize their live audio environment based on their own specific listening preferences.”

Through volume sliders, EQ and effects that act as “a studio in your ears,” the Here Active Listening System allows users to adjust real world audio.

Doppler says that the tech can be used for everyday scenarios outside of music: ‘suppress a baby crying, the subway screech or reduce the roar of the crowd and optimize listening for sporting events, air travel, open office environments and even noisy commutes’.

Doppler Labs’ Kickstarter campaign, which runs through the beginning of July, allows consumers to purchase the Here buds and app at a special $199 price before it is available on the commercial market.

Backers can also be a part of developing the Here audio platform and have access to other exclusive Kickstarter rewardsMusic Business Worldwide
