The head of European Partnerships at Rdio, Stefan Baumschlager, has left the business after almost three years, MBW has learnt.
Baumschlager joined Rdio in 2012 and was responsible for negotiating licenses with European collection societies and publishers including the majors i.e. PAECOL (SonyATV), CELAS (EMI Publishing), SACEM (UMPI), Warner Chappell and ARESA (BMG).
In addition, he worked on distribution strategy and partnerships with labels, telcos and media companies across Europe and was a well-known ‘face’ of Rdio in the region.
German exec Baumschlager previously spent five years at Last.fm, where he worked his way up to the company’s Head Of Music before leaving for Rdio.
An out of office from Baumschlager receieved by MBW simply says: “I’m no longer with Rdio, so please kindly email these people instead depending on the nature of your query,” before listing his European collegues.Music Business Worldwide
