French music company Believe is expanding its presence in Asia with a Tokyo HQ focused on Japan.

Key executives leading the new office for Believe include General Manager and Head of Label & Artist Solutions Erika Ogawa and Head of Artist Services Mari Ochiai. Its Label & Artist Solutions business offers marketing and consulting services to artists and labels, while its Artist Services provides marketing strategy, data analysis, financial support, and music distribution for artists.

In September, Believe celebrated its 10th year in the Asia Pacific region after launching its first office in 2013. It is now present in 15 countries across the region with teams of around 480 people spread between India, China, Southeast Asia, Australia, and Japan. Believe says it is committed to supporting and empowering local artists and labels at all stages of their career, helping to contribute to the emergence of a thriving digital music landscape.

Believe has signed over 10,000 labels and artists across the region in the past decade, paying out more than 700M€ ($742M) in royalties back to the local music industry.

“As Asian music markets undergo an acceleration of their digitalization and an increased adoption of subscription streaming, Believe is unique set to strengthen its position as the region’s largest music company and best partner for local independent artists and labels,” the company says.

“The decade-long legacy of Believe in the Asia Pacific stands as a testament to our outstanding teams’ dedication, passion, and commitment to empowering artists at all stages of their careers and across all music genres, with fairness, transparency, and respect,” adds Sylvain Delange, Regional Director, APAC, Believe. “We are grateful fo rour artists and partners’ trusts and as Asia gears up to become the world’s largest music market in the next decade, Believe is poised to maintain its leadership position.”
